Dosbarth Dreigiau – Miss Beesley

Spring Term 2026

Welcome to our class page where you can find out about what we are learning and see pictures of some of our work.  There is also a parent resources section below where you can find links to learning resources that you can use with your child at home.

This term the pupils will be learning about community, closely looking at their school community. Learning about their school community helps them feel included and valued, which boosts confidence and emotional security. Understanding roles within the school (teachers, staff, classmates) teaches respect, cooperation, and empathy. These skills are essential for building positive relationships. When children learn how their school works and their role in it, they begin to understand concepts like rules, fairness, and shared responsibility—early foundations for citizenship. Knowing who to go to for help and understanding routines makes children feel safe and more independent in navigating their environment. When the pupils see themselves as part of a community, they are more motivated to engage in learning because they understand they contribute to something bigger. We will work together to improve our school environment for the better and the children learn that their ideas and actions matter. When the pupils can see they can make a difference, they start to take ownership of their environment—whether it’s keeping the classroom tidy or being kind to others.

  • We will learn what a community is and the different communities the children belong to.
  • We will learn about of school community – who is in it and how we can make small changes for the better.
  • We will learn how to write letters which will improve our literacy skills.
  • We will learn how to create and carry out questionnaires which will improve our communication skills and numeracy skills when we analyse the data collected.
  • We will learn how to carry out a science investigation and learn how to read and create our own bug identification keys.
